Peekaboo Jez

Peek a Boo Jez

Hi Folks,

My silly HuMUM thought she was soooooooooo smart today and tried to take pictures of me when I was patrolling my territory on top of the fridge and on the stove. I was not amused as you will note by the look on my face. To make things worse the camera doesn't do justice to my magnificently stunning blue eyes.

I let her post the pics so feel free to fawn all over them.

New Play Centre-by Casey Cat

Hey, fellow Desperate Housepets-my name is Casey and I am the Head Housepet in my home. It is definately awesome being King and having "people" to do your bidding. For instance-when I want to be scratched by the Lady of the House (LOTH)I simply deactivate one of my switchblade like claws and obtain her attention by stabbing her, gently at first, but adding more pressure until she gets my message. Sometimes I need a scrach in the middle of the night when LOTH is sleeping-you should see how quickly she wakes up when I stab her in the back. lololololol

I have a long time partner, Lizzy, a doggie brother Kilty, a doggie brother Angus (a redhead like me) and a baby sister Kitty-Jezebelle. Oh, that Jez, she is such a ditz-this afternoon she found herself on the outside of the backdoor looking in-how she got there is anyone's guess, but her desperate scratching on the glass caught LOTH's attention and unfortunately for all of us-she is back inside. Jez plays on the new kitty-gym when I let her, she needs to wear off that kitten energy and quit bugging me. An experienced King Kitty like me needs his rest.

It is starting to get colder outside where we live so Lizzy and I are migrating to the downstairs. This kitty migration takes place every fall and then we head back up after the cold winter. I think it has more to do with the extra heaters downstairs that we can lie beside than migratory patterns of felines, but who cares -when you are King you can what you want when you want.

Oh, yes, I asked LOTH to post a picture of me so you can see me in action and swoon.

HRH Casey

Animal Blessing

Angus here this time. I finally got my chance at the computer.

You will never guess what we did today. Our Humum took us to a really really old Church to be blessed. It was awesome! Everyone in the church made a big fuss about Kilty and I (as they should) and we walked down a nice red carpet to a "pew". Some of the dogs sat on the pew to watch the ceremony, but Kilty and I sat on the nice red carpet. There were cats there and lots of dogs with their humans. The humans sang songs and the Father said that we could join in too if we wanted to, but Kilty and I decided not to sing and drown out the humans. I did notice a kitty meowing along though. When the singing was over we were all called up for a special Pet blessing and we had our pictures taken, then we got dog treats so all in all it was a fun afternoon.

Can't wait to see what she has planned for next weekend.

Angy-out for now.

Desperate Fundraising Dogs

Kilty here,

This Sunday, Humum, Angus and I headed out to a big Park called Bird's Hill to walk in a fundraiser for dog guides. You know, the dogs that help people who don't have site or need some help from us canines. I figured it was the least we could do and help raise some money for their care and training. I am a lean mean walking shelty, but my buddy Angus wasn't quite as gung ho. He hid in our van for a while and then pretended he had a limp, but Humum didn't fall for it and made him walk the whole route at a pretty fast pace. I almost felt sorry for the pudgy red guy-hee hee. I keep telling him not to have that second piece of Haggis, but he won't listen.

Everyone in the walk made a big fuss over me "Oh, what beautiful colouring", "He is sooooooooo handsome", "what a smart dog, he seems to understand everything you say"
I just gave them my best "George Clooneylike" pose and basked in the adulation.

There were other dogs doing "tricks" for the humans-how silly! I turned my back on them and put my nose up in the air. Angus was flat out pooped by this point, still trying to catch his breath. There were lots of dogs to meet and we had a good time
and raised a bunch of money for the dog guides.

What did you do today????

Jez takes a turn

Jezebel Kitty

Hello, let me introduce myself. I am Kilty's cat- Jezebelle. My HuMUM wanted to call me Star or Dixie, but once Uncle Jack saw me in action the name Jezebelle just seemed to fit. I don't mind, there aren't alot of kitties with that name and I am very special. I am from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and moved to Winnipeg as a wee ragdoll kitten in May 07. I rode here in a fish truck-how awesome it that????

It was love at first sight with Kilty and I - he is very protective of me and trust me I needed it at first with that Casey Cat giving me the hairy eyeball. Casey looks quite a bit like Jack, hee hee and kind of acts like him too. I hope he doesn't read this or I might be in trouble.

My hobbies are teasing dogs - especially Angus, mop-boarding, catching bugs, sitting in windows, sleeping and keeping Jack entertained in the middle of the night. I have the most beautiful blue eyes and I have lilac points on my ears and body-I am stunning if I do say so myself. I love to sit on Mum's laptop computer while she is trying to use it so you can see I have fit in beautifully here.

I feel a nap coming on so Meow for now

Desperate Housepets Speak

Hi Everyone! My name is Kilty and I am the top dog of my household. My HuMUM has asked me to say a few words and invite you to follow along with the daily life of her pampered pets.

I am a blue merle sheltie, with stunning beautiful steel blue hair which my HuMUM loves to brush - much to my dismay. I don't have time in my busy day to stand there and let her brush and fuss, but I do it because it seems to make her happy.

I have a doggie brother named Angus, and three kitty siblings-Casey the orange tabby, Lizzy the Tortoise, and the newest - Jezebel the Rag Doll, plus two humans. I love to herd the cats, go for long walks, and get my face scratched - oh and chase bunnies.

So join my blog- I mean "our" blog and tell us all about yourself.

Fundraising Events

Hello, Snow here - the furkids let me use the computer for a few minutes.

Fundraising season is in high gear. We held two events the weekend of May 3-4 - a Garage Sale and providing the Canteen Service at Bird's Hill Park for the Equine Canada Competition. Karen and her army of volunteers from Cause for Paws worked tirelessly all week setting up and then all day and evening Saturday and Sunday to cook and serve food to the contestants and crowd. Karen's group was so well received that they have been asked back for future events. A big thankyou to the dedicated Cause for Paws volunteers!

Any items that we couldn't sell have been donated to D'Arcy's Arc Thrift Store.

Kilty and Angy at the Dog Park

Kilty here, Snow's top dog. Snow wasn't working today so we all loaded up into her van and took off to the off leash dog park for some R&R (rolling and running). It was a beautiful day here today and I had plans to run and let my thick silver hair blow in the wind, but nooooooooooooooooo-Snow signed us up for Clean Up Day at the dog park. What a slave driver!

Actually Snow did all the work and Angus and I watched as she picked up stale poop, garbage and stuff but we supervised. It was the least we could do for her.

Later we came home and I napped while Angus helped Snow clean up our yard outside. Then we went grocery shopping -weekends are so busy around here a Shelty hardly has time to think. There are humans to supervise, cats to herd, phones to bark at, it never ends.

I sure hope Sunday is restful.

Bye for now,

Kilty Scott

Guest Blogger -Jezabel

Hi Angels,

Itty, Bitty Kitty here. I have taken over the blog for tonight. I am way more interesting than Snow anyway. She can't read this can she???

Anyway, I have invented a new sport. It is called "Mopboarding"and I am just amazing at it if I do say so myself. How it works is your human grabs this thing she calls a mop and moves it around the floors of the house. We have hardwood floors so the mop moves around really smoothly and fast. Once my human starts mopping I jump on the mop head and riddddddddde it in and hang on for dear life as Snow zooms along under tables and around and around. We usually end up in the kitchen and that is when I get off and wait for the next run. You should see me hang 20! I am amazing. I am going to submit my new sport to the Olympic Committee cause I am sure it will be a new event for the 2010 Olympics. I will post some pics of me in the next couple of days. Uh oh, gotta go-Snowwarning!!!
